Established in 1871, Alcorn State University is an esteemed public land-grant institution and the oldest of its kind serving the African American community in the United States. Located in the tranquil countryside of Lorman, Mississippi, it has been pivotal in promoting regional access to quality higher education, particularly for African Americans. Today, the university serves a student body of roughly 2,933, offering a wide array of academic programs from Associate's to Doctorate degrees, including Post-master's certificates.
